Pace: Relaxed/Easy – About 22-24 minutes/mile

Rating: Level 1+ to 2. Click here for hike RATING TABLE (http://files.meetup.com/1554500/RATING%20TABLE.pdf)

Description: Bommer Ridge trail is a nice big, wide, well groomed dirt maintenance road. We will have some moderate hills up and down along the way. Along with cooling ocean breezes, there are nice views of the ocean, and the other ridges and canyons along the way. This is an out and back hike.

Options:

Beginners may want to only walk a mile or two, then turn around and follow your tracks back to the starting point.

Intermediate hikers may choose to extend the distance or even add on some extra side trips for more challenge. Just ask me if you want some suggestions.

Sometimes we may see some wildlife: quail, hawks, roadrunners, bunny wabbits, and if we are very lucky, maybe a snake or a tarantula.

Parking: There is plenty of on-street parking all along Ridge Park Road and East Coastal Peak Road. GPS Address: 20403 E Coastal Peak, Newport Coast, CA 92657.

Route: From the rest room meeting point, we can access the Pacific Ridge trail directly across the street, heading to the left, to to Bommer Ridge trail, where we turn right. See Photos for more details.

What to bring: Water, maybe a snack or lunch, sunglasses, sturdy hiking shoes, maybe hiking poles if you have them, a hat or umbrella, a happy attitude and a big smile!
