Danielson Monument with optional potluck

Join me on an evening hike with optional potluck.
This hike is a moderate 6 mile out and back, with a total elevation gain/loss about 800 ft. The hike starts at the Wendy/Potrero trailhead where Wendy Dr meets Potrero Rd. We will take the Windmill Trail to the Old Cabin Trail to the Danielson Monument, where will have a potluck. We will return on the same trail in the dark, so bring a flashlight.

If you plan to attend the potluck, please bring food to share and your own plates, cups and utensils.

How to get there: From 101 (Ventura Freeway), exit at the Wendy Dr and head south (towards the ocean). Drive about 3 miles where Wendy Dr ends at Potrero Rd.
Distance: 6 miles

Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes, slip-‘n-fall, poison oak, and mountain bikes.
Bring: Extra layer (wind breaker recommended) to take on and off as needed, Flashlight/headlamp and food for the potluck. Water maybe 2L. It is always good to bring more than you need!
Have a mask to take on and off as needed out of respect to other hikers/bikers we pass on the trail and in our group during the pandemic. We need to also continue to practice social distancing ourselves to continue to prevent the spread of Covid.
