We will be hiking a minimum of 7.0 miles with several options, up to 10 miles, by including some hills.

PARK DESCRIPTION: Chino Hills State Park is unique in that it provides refuge for both biodiversity and solitude to the visitors who enjoy their outdoor experiences. There is no other location in the LA Basin were people can drive a short distance and be swept away with scenic vistas, hike, bike or ride a horse on over 65 miles of trails. At 14,102 acres the park is managed as an open space habitat where all plant and animal life are protected.

Note: Rain, extreme heat or low participation may cancel hike. Check your email the morning of the event in case of cancelation.

According to the RATING TABLE ( this is a LEVEL 2 hike-MODERATE.

We will usually take an easy route down Easy Street to Telegraph to Four corners. At Four Corners, as long as we have experienced volunteers to lead the group from there, you will have an option of taking the same way back (shady and easy, 7.0 miles), or longer (10 to 15 minutes) harder route back via Bovinian Delight to South Ridge (easy hill 7.5 miles), or even longer up North Rim Trail to Gilman Peak. Pace 2 to 3.5 miles per hour. We may reverse this order depending how sunny or hot it is. It should take about 2 to 3.5 hours, depending on optional trails hiked and speed. Bring a snack for our break at Four Corners.

NECESSITIES: Adequate water (1 to 3 liters), hat, sunscreen, snack, layered clothing to adjust to climate change. Trekking Poles optional. Printable map located at link further down.

FACILITIES: There are no water facilities. There is a port-a-potty midway through our hike.
