1. Visitor Center: Mather Point
2. Grandview Point:
Grandview Point (Elevation: 7399 feet / 2256 meters)
This popular viewpoint offers panoramic views of Grand Canyon from east to west, including several bends of the Colorado River to the east.
The historic Grandview Trail begins here. This trail is VERY steep! In the summer much of the trail is in full sun. In the winter ice and snow can make hiking treacherous. Always use caution on the Grandview Trail.
3. Hermit Road:
Maricopa Point is 0.7 miles (1.1 km) beyond First Trail View on Hermit Road (West Rim Drive) on the South Rim of the park, as rain clouds parted on July 25, 2017. Hermit Road is a scenic route along the west end of Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim which follows the rim for 7 miles (11 km) out to Hermits Rest. This extremely popular route is accessed by free park shuttle bus, foot, bicycle, or commercial bus tour most of the year, with private vehicles allowed only during winter months. Along the rim are nine designated viewpoints where the free Hermits Rest Route shuttle bus stops.
